Dinner Last Night

Well, the life of an accountant's wife has struck again! Since Pat is having to work later than "normal" hours right now as is our friend, Stephen, I have decided to start experimenting with dinners and make Erin (Stephen's wife) be my guinea pig. Last night, I made focaccia bread with salad and baked ziti. We ate a really late dinner because we went to Zumba, but I am hoping the calories we consumed were burned off before in our class. You should definitely try both of these recipes!! I found this blog, Annie's Eats, through a pin on Pinterest and I am so delighted to have found it! I cannot wait to try some more of her recipes! Yummy!!

A Corgi Christmas

A little late, but we participated in The Corgi Butts Christmas Exchange that Kelly set up last year for us. We received our present and I had to keep it away from Wrigley because he kept sniffing it, knowing it was his. Ever since the exchange last year, Wrigley has loved opening gifts (I wish I had taken a video; it's hilarious!) because he thinks each present is for him and he loves tearing the paper and sticking his head in bags.

Our present was wrapped so nicely within the shipping box and Wrigley was going crazy. We opened the card and found out our Secret Corgi Santa was Aparna and Gryff! I thought this was funny because last year, we sent Gryff's gift!

Finally to the good stuff, Mom!!

Opening the last box, we found a gift for me--a very cute reusable bag which I love! And there were two gifts for Wrigley: a skinneez raccoon and a galileo bone. He could not wait to get his teeth on both of them!!

Gimme dat coon!

Thank you so much, Aparna and Gryff!!! We love our gifts!! I can't wait for next year again! It's such a cool gift exchange!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

I finally got some Christmas decorations out on saturday afternoon. I haven't decided if I am going to use my holly branches in the hurricane vases or not yet. I might need a little green in my life. ;)

Merry Christmas to Me!

My Christmas came a little early. I have been wanting a china cabinet ever since we moved into our house and today, I finally found one! I headed over to My Favorite Place and found a decent size china cabinet that I like. It took forever because I can't have a huge piece in the space I have and it has to be raised to allow for the floor vent. I am trying to decide whether to have it delivered or if I can't wait (probably will be the case), I will make Pat come with me on Saturday to pick it up. Hooray!! I will finally have a spot for my china (I know my mom will appreciate having it out of her house!) and it will be nice to have something up on the wall in the dining room.
Now I just have to decide on paint colors!! Any suggestions? I will be replacing the hardware too, so this shall be a very interesting adventure!! Any good tips of how to refinish furniture? Comments would be much appreciated!! I'm thinking of doing a crackle finish on it or I might just paint it a very very pale blue or green. Oh, I can't wait!!!!

I'm thinking about doing it like this: http://dreamywhites.blogspot.com/2010/07/my-blue-cupboard.html
